Tawab Jawed is a Ukrainian born Afghan singer and musician who portrayed great early musical potential in playing the piano and performing at Afghan functions and weddings at the young age of 14. As a teen, Tawab released live recordings and music videos on Youtube to promote and pursue music as a lifetime ambition. His creative work quickly attracted the attention of media outlets and he was invited to perform at several live, and Afghan TV shows. He played at the annual Afghan Summer Festival in California, gave a distinguished guest appearance on Tolo TV and has released three successful covers: ‘Maida Maida’, ‘Aziz jan’ and ‘Raqs’. After a series of successful hits, Tawab relocated to Las Vegas and saw a string of sold out shows. Tawab’s musical personality has been hailed as one of Afghanistan’s most beloved with a unique musical style of a distinctive mix of country blues, folklore and the early jazz sounds of Afghanistan’s golden age. His captivating and nostalgic performances time blends musicianship, creativity, tradition and high energy, to be described to be a ‘bottomless barrel of musical ear candy’ by one endearing fan. He owes his success and his progression to his mother, who is his biggest supporter and most loyal fan. Tawab pays great love and admiration for Afghan icons Farhad Darya and Fawad Ramez and hopes to perform alongside them in the future.
